Botulinum toxin can be used to treat facial wrinkles caused by muscle activity. Most commonly, it is used for the frown lines between the eyebrows, but can also be used to treat crowsfeet and horizontal forehead lines. Botulinum toxin can also be used on bunny lines on the nose, vertical lip lines (smokers lines), chin dimpling, and the vertical neck bands as well. It can also be used to shape or lift the eyebrows and raise the corners of the mouth.
Non-cosmetic use of Botox include treatment of headaches and localized excessive sweating, especially of the armpits.
