BOTOX® Cosmetic & Dysport®
BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® are highly purified toxin derived from the bacteria clostridium botulinum. It works by blocking receptor sites on muscles and preventing acetylcholine, released by nerves, from stimulating muscles to contract.
BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® are utilized in the skin in very small and safe amounts to selectively block the function of certain facial muscles that are involved in wrinkle formation. Best locations to inject BOTOX® and Dysport® are frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet lines, causing the wrinkles to fade or disappear for a more youthful and vital facial appearance.
BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport® are easily administered into the appropriate muscle in a few minutes with a nearly painless injection. There is no post treatment recovery time, so you can resume your regular schedule after treatment. Botulinum toxin treatments have no effect on fine lines and wrinkles that are not caused by muscular activity.
The first treatment involves injection into strong thick muscle and therefore usually only lasts three to four months. At subsequent sessions the muscle is smaller and weaker (since it has not been used) and the injections may last longer than four months. The effect also wears off gradually so there is ample time to reschedule another appointment. 
Botox Before and after
Side effects can occur, but are uncommon and last only temporarily. Occasionally some slight drooping of the eyebrow can occur, but this can be fixed by injecting the opposing upper eyelid muscle that is pulling down the brow. Temporary bruising, as with any needle puncture procedure can occur. 
More uncommon, mild headaches, numbness, tingling or a feeling of heaviness may occur; however these symptoms disappear in one to two days.
