There is some mild pain which can easily be overcome with Tylenol. The injected site will appear bruised and swollen for a few days. Continual wearing of the compression hose will relieved the swelling and pain and significantly reduce the risk of blood clots forming the the treated veins, discoloration of the skin. The bruising usually disappears in 2-3 weeks. One will have no problem with walking. After the first 2 days, most patients can resume their normal activities. You will be asked to return for a follow-up evaluation in 2 weeks. Don’t get alarmed if the treated vein feels hard and lumpy under the skin -- it’s supposed to! Your body will gradually reabsorb this over time.
