While most dermal fillers are made with hyaluronic acid (HA) as their active ingredient, RADIESSE® is formulated with calcium hydroxyapatite, a mineral that is a major component of bone. As a naturally occurring substance in the body, it is implanted as a gel filler that is eventually dissolved in the body with time, the same as HA fillers.
The calcium hydroxyapatite particles in RADIESSE® stimulate collagen growth for smoother, younger-looking skin, long after the RADIESSE® particles have been absorbed back into the body. RADIESSE® also lasts longer than many of our other temporary dermal fillers, with immediate results that can typically last for over a year.
