Diet pills, rigorous exercise classes, carb-free meals – there are scores of weight-loss options that promise to deliver results, but many of them are ineffective and unhealthy. Nobody should have to risk their health to lose weight, and if your efforts to trim your waistline aren’t paying off, then you may be a good candidate for CoolSculpting.

CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved fat-reduction procedure that uses cryolipolysis to kill fat cells by cooling them. Your body will then expel the fat cells naturally, leaving a naturally contoured appearance.

The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery cited a recent study that tested the safety and effectiveness of CoolSculpting. Researchers found that this treatment:

● Is effective for reducing fat just beneath the skin’s surface;
● Does not cause severe side effects; and
● Has become rapidly popular. There was an 823-percent increase in CoolSculpting treatments in 2012 compared to 2010.

How Effective Is CoolSculpting – and How Much Does It Cost?

When Harvard scientists Dieter Manstein, MD and R. Rox Anderson, MD observed that some children who ate popsicles developed dimples, they decided to find out why. These researchers discovered that the popsicles were freezing small pockets of fat cells in the children’s cheeks.

This observation led to the discovery of cryolipolysis. With a specialized CoolSculpting applicator, therapists can use this science to help patients contour their bodies.

After your CoolSculpting session, your body will gradually expel the targeted fat cells. This process will not harm the surrounding muscle or skin tissue.

A 2014 study in the Journal of Clinical, Cosmetic and Investigational Dermatology examined years of cryolipolysis treatments and found that the procedure helped reduce subcutaneous fat by up to 25 percent after a single treatment. An estimated 86 percent of patients noticed significant improvements.

CoolSculpting is effective for treating visible fat bulges under the chin, as well as on the thighs, abdomen and flank. You can also target bra fat, back fat and fatty tissue underneath the buttocks.

Your therapist can treat a small area in about one hour, but your session may last longer or you may need to schedule multiple sessions if you want to target a larger area. If your first treatment does not produce satisfactory results, you can schedule a follow-up procedure to target the area again.
