PDO Threads Explained
PDO threads are polydioxanone, an absorbable suture that has been used for wound closure in surgeries for over 30 years. PDO threads are barbed threads which are carefully and strategically placed beneath the skin under the direction of our founder and medical director, Dr. Sudy.
These barbs anchor in beneath the skin and slowly dissolve over the course of several weeks. Their presence stimulates the production of collagen, creating profound results while minimizing downtime.

How do PDO Thread Lifts Work?
PDO lifts work by stimulating collagen production to promote skin elasticity and texture and improve the appearance of fine lines and scars, but their strategic placement means that they also provide an instant lift, immediately giving you a younger, refreshed look! What Can I Expect During A PDO Thread Lift?
We administer a local anesthetic to the treatment site to ensure you feel no discomfort. Once the anesthetic has taken effect, we meticulously insert the PDO threads into the appropriate layers of skin via blunt-tipped needles called cannulas, which act as anchors to lift the skin upwards.
How Long Does Treatment Take?
Treatment usually takes about an hour. There is minimal pain involved due to the anesthesia, and there are typically very few side effects to MINT™ PDO, besides some initial bruising, dimpling, and swelling that will subside within a week.
