At Evolve Medical Associates, we’re dedicated to providing you with quality aesthetic and wellness treatments that make a difference in your everyday life. Your overall wellness is our top priority, and that means helping you not just feel great, but look great too.
Our medical professionals perform a variety of cosmetic treatments, including injectable dermal fillers like Restylane®. Dermal fillers are injected just below the surface of the skin to fill in lines, wrinkles, and scars, and to add lost volume to the cheeks and lips. But what sets Restylane® apart?
What is Restylane®
Restylane® fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the human body. Restylane® encourages the body’s own collagen production to restore volume to the treatment area for natural-looking results. The Restylane® family of fillers are each formulated specifically to treat various areas of the face, as each filler uses different sized particles for truly customizable cosmetic treatments.
Restylane® Defyne is used to soften deep nasolabial folds (the lines that run from the sides of your nose to the corners of your mouth) as well as marionette lines (the lines that run from the corners of your mouth to your chin), providing dramatic yet natural-looking de-aging effects.
Restylane® Refyne is also used to address nasolabial folds and marionette lines, but its mid-level lifting effect makes it a choice for moderate facial wrinkles and lines. It’s used to softly refine the facial features, and its results are more subtle than those of Restylane® Defyne.
Restylane® Lyft is formulated to correct volume loss and address wrinkles in the midface area, but can also be used to restore volume in the hands as well. Restylane® Lyft was formerly known as Perlane-L® and was designed specifically to add fullness to the face and hands.
Restylane® Kysse is a filler created specifically for the lips. It subtly adds volume, smooths upper lip lines, and even enhances lip color, all while allowing the lips to still appear soft. The effects of Restylane® Kysse allow for natural, flexible lip movement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which Areas Does Restylane® Treat?
The different fillers in the Restylane® line can be used to treat mild to severe nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and smile lines; lines around the mouth and vertical lines above the lips; and to enhance the backs of the hands. There is even a dedicated Restylane® filler used specifically for lip augmentation.
Every person’s treatment will look different, and in addition to potentially combining several different Restylane® dermal fillers for customized treatments, we can also use them in combination with other injectables like BOTOX® for improved results.
Is Restylane® Right for Me?
Restylane®, like our other injectables, may not be right for every patient. At your cosmetic consultation at Evolve Medical Associates, we will sit down with you and discuss your concerns and goals to create a personalized treatment plan that will help you reach them.
Is Restylane® Safe?
Absolutely! Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally on the body, and therefore dissolves naturally with time and is integrated into the body’s tissues. Restylane® itself was used in Europe and Canada for many years before gaining FDA approval in 2016. However, like all injectables, Restylane® treatments are safest when administered by trained professionals like our staff at Evolve.
What Will My Treatment Look Like?
During your session, our expert injectors will strategically apply Restylane® to the designated treatment areas. You may feel a slight pinching sensation, but many of our patients choose the added comfort of a topical anesthetic cream to make the treatment relatively painless.
Are There Side Effects to Restylane®?
Like other dermal fillers, the side effects of Restylane® can include redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection sites. These side effects are typically minimal and wear off in just a few days, but cold compresses and ibuprofen can be used to ease any discomfort.
Is There Downtime Associated with Restylane®?
Following your Restylane® treatment, you can resume normal activities immediately. However, as there can sometimes be side effects like mild swelling, we recommend not scheduling Restylane® sessions just before any major events.
How Long Will My Results Last?
Dermal fillers are absorbed by the body over time and require repeated maintenance treatments. Depending on the area treated, results can last up to six months or longer. During your consultation, we’ll be able to give you a better idea of how often you’ll need a touch-up in order to maintain your best results.
