What is RADIESSE®
RADIESSE® is a dermal filler used for smoothing moderate to severe facial wrinkles or folds. While most dermal fillers are made with hyaluronic acid (HA) as their active ingredient, RADIESSE® is formulated with calcium hydroxyapatite, a mineral that is a major component of bone. As a naturally occurring substance in the body, it is implanted as a gel filler that is eventually dissolved in the body with time, the same as HA fillers.
The calcium hydroxyapatite particles in RADIESSE® stimulate collagen growth for smoother, younger-looking skin, long after the RADIESSE® particles have been absorbed back into the body. RADIESSE® also lasts longer than many of our other temporary dermal fillers, with immediate results that can typically last for over a year.

What Will My Treatment Look Like?
During treatment, RADIESSE® will be strategically injected under the skin by our experienced staff in the selected areas, which also may be numbed with anesthetic cream beforehand to minimize your discomfort. Typically, patients do not feel any pain besides a slight pinching sensation at the injection sites.
Are There Side Effects to RADIESSE®?
Like many other injectable cosmetic treatments, RADIESSE® side effects can include redness, swelling, pain, itching, redness, and bruising at the injection sites. However, these effects can be minimized with a cold compress and will wear off within a few days.
Is There Downtime Associated with RADIESSE®?
Patients can typically assume daily activities directly after receiving RADIESSE® treatments. However, as the side effects mentioned above can occasionally occur, we recommend not scheduling your treatment just before any major events.
How Long Will My Results Last?
Results from RADIESSE® are immediate and continue to improve over the next six months following treatment. Patients have reported that RADIESSE® can last anywhere from 12 to 18 months, but like all dermal fillers, it depends on the individual.
